Look who’s next door
I had band practice today at Troy Horse and it felt like any other day when I was lugging my drum kit into the rehearsal room. I was the first one there out of my band members so as I was setting up my gear, I started to hear a deep bass from the room next door. Then came rimshots. I started to think to myself, “I’ve heard this song before”.. Then the electronica came out and I realised seekae was next door, practising. I ran out of our room and rushed to the front desk, to check with Chris (the studio owner) if it was in fact seekae. He confirmed it, and Chris could sense my amazement.
We started practice at midday, but I learnt that they were there since 9am. That’s commitment, especially being a Mothers Day Sunday. In between our songs, I would try to listen to what they were playing. I also wondered what they were thinking about us. I couldn’t hold my excitement for the whole 3 hours that we were there. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see them, but I heard them unload.hahaha I’m such a fanboy!

Incredible!
This song reminds me of why I love hip hop. It’s one of the few mediums where you can revive past musical hidden treasures, through the art of sampling, then fuse this history with modern thought, being the MC’s rhymes. Can’t help but nod my head to this track. It’s actually been awhile since I last posted on tumblr. This track is definitely worthy of breaking that drought. Jonti - red on green.
